Hold-to-earn
Every trade of a coin you hold pays you. Longer holds earn more. Selling resets.
Holding a coin earns you part of every trade made in it, by anyone. You don't stake or lock anything. You just hold.
Where the money comes from
| When | Holders get |
|---|---|
| On the curve, through woop | 0.45% of every trade |
| On the curve, through woop, with no promoter | another 0.25%, through the coin's treasury |
| On the curve, from other apps | 1.35% of every trade |
| After graduation | 50% of the coin's 0.84% pool-fee share, about 0.42% of every trade |
Earnings are paid in the coin's pair token. Hold a coin paired with
SOL, earn SOL. Hold one paired with
USD1, earn USD1.
How your share is worked out
Each holder gets a score for each payout period:
score = amount held × time held
Your share of the holder fees is your score divided by everyone's scores added together.

- Holding more tokens raises your score.
- Holding longer raises your score.
- A small holder who has held for weeks can out-earn a large holder who bought yesterday.
Selling resets your time
Any drop in your balance resets your time held to zero for that period. That includes selling part of your position.
Your past earnings are not affected. Anything already earned stays yours.
Claiming
Fees are shared out in periods, shown on the coin page under Rewards.
- Open the coin page, or your portfolio.
- See what you've earned so far.
- Press Claim and confirm in your wallet.
Earnings add up over time. Each claim pays what's new since your last one. Unclaimed earnings don't expire.
Checking the maths
Payouts are published as a Merkle root on-chain by our woop_rewards program. Anyone can check that their amount is in it, and the program only pays to the holder's own token account. See Programs and addresses.
