Creator lock
Optionally lock part of the supply so it unlocks slowly. Locked coins show a trust badge.
A creator lock is optional vesting. You set aside part of your coin's supply, and it unlocks bit by bit over a period you choose.
Why lock
Traders check whether a creator can dump on them. A lock shows you can't sell those tokens right away.
Coins with a lock show a Creator locked badge at the top of the coin page, with the share locked. Traders see the lock in the coin's rug signals.
How it works
You set it at launch, or when you open a fair launch:
| Setting | What it means |
|---|---|
| Amount | How much of the supply is locked: 5%, 10%, 20% or 30% |
| Cliff | How long after graduation before anything unlocks: none, 1, 3 or 6 months |
| Unlock period | How long it takes to unlock fully, in equal parts: 1, 3 or 6 months, or a year |
The lock starts when your coin graduates. After the cliff, tokens unlock steadily until the unlock period ends. You claim unlocked tokens from your dashboard, for free: woop pays the network fee.
The whole lock belongs to the wallet that launched the coin. It's set in the launch transaction and can't be changed or handed to anyone else.
On a fair launch, the lock is set when the sale opens and is given to you when the window closes and the coin launches. The fair launch page shows it to everyone, so people see it before they commit.
Choosing the settings
Longer locks build more trust. A lock that ends a week after graduation tells traders little.
Locked tokens are not part of what's sold on the curve. Locking more means a smaller share of the supply goes to buyers. Raydium holds the locked tokens.
