Fair Blocks

Your order settles with everyone else's, at one price. Nobody in the block can jump it.

On a normal curve, trades go through one at a time, in whatever order they land. An order placed a moment before yours gets a better price, and a bot can buy just ahead of you and sell just after.

Fair Blocks remove the order. Trades through woop collect for a few seconds, then settle together.

How it works

  1. You place an order. Buy or sell, as usual. It goes into the coin's current block, with your coins or SOL held by our program.
  2. The block collects for about 3 seconds. Up to 16 orders go into one block. Anyone else trading the coin through woop in that window joins the same block.
  3. The block settles. Buys and sells are matched with each other at the current price: the curve's, or the coin's Raydium pool's once it has graduated. Only what's left over trades on the market, as one combined trade.
  4. One price per side. Every buyer in the block pays the same price. Every seller gets the same price.
  5. You're paid. Coins or SOL land in your wallet on their own, a moment after the block settles.

The trade panel shows "Settling…" while your order is in a block, then tells you what you got.

Why it's better

  • Nobody can jump you inside a block. Order doesn't matter, so there's nothing to race for.
  • Matched trades don't move the price. When a buy meets a sell in the same block, they trade with each other at the current price. No slippage, no price impact.
  • You never get less than your minimum. Each order carries the least you'll accept, worked out from your slippage. If a block can't give you that, your order is left out and refunded in full.

Fair Block or Instant

The trade panel has two ways to trade:

Fair Block is the default.

Fees

On the curve, the same 2% as any trade through woop. On the matched part, each side pays 2%: 0.5% to the creator, 0.4% to woop and the rest to holders. The leftover trades on the curve through woop, like an Instant trade: it pays 2% after its 1.25% rebate, and the rebate goes to the side that traded. Buyers get their share back in the pair token, along with their coins. Sellers get it in what they're paid. A block is never dearer than an Instant trade.

After graduation the matched part costs 1.25% a side, the same as a pool trade, so a block is never dearer than trading the pool directly. The leftover pays the pool's own fee.

$WOOP tier holders pay half on the matched part. See Fees for traders.

After graduation

Fair Blocks keep working when a coin graduates. Orders are matched at the Raydium pool's price, and the leftover swaps in the pool. Nothing changes in the trade panel.

Every order gets in

A block holds 16 orders. The last 4 slots are kept for $WOOP tier holders, so a full block never shuts them out. If an order has to be left out because the block can't meet its minimum, tier orders are never the ones dropped.

The price guard

A block only settles at a price close to one the program saw a moment earlier. If the price jumps in the same instant as the settle (a bot buying hard right before it), the block waits a moment and settles once the price steadies. Your minimum still protects you either way.

In the trades list

Each order in a settled block shows in the coin's trades list on its own, tagged Block, at the price its side got. Matched orders count toward the coin's volume once, and so does the leftover traded on the curve.

Fast sending

Every trade, launch and claim is sent through Helius Sender, which routes transactions to validators over staked connections so they land quickly. On mainnet each transaction includes a tiny tip for this, about 0.000005 SOL.

What it doesn't do

  • It doesn't stop the price moving. The leftover still trades on the curve, and other people still trade.
  • It only covers trades through woop. A bot trading the curve directly from another app isn't in the block.
  • It doesn't make the leftover free. What isn't matched still pays the curve's fee through woop (2%) or the pool's fee.
