Buying a coin

Pay with SOL on any pair, in a Fair Block or instantly. One transaction.

You can pay with SOL on any coin. On a SOL pair, your SOL buys the coin directly, in one transaction.

On any other pair, woop swaps your SOL into the pair token first, in the same transaction. A coin paired with USDC can be bought with SOL or with USDC: pick under Pay with.

Paying with SOL on other pairs

  • The swap goes through Jupiter, which finds the best price across Solana's exchanges. The panel shows the route.
  • The swap and the buy are one transaction. If either fails, nothing happens.
  • A tiny bit of the pair token, about 0.5%, can stay in your wallet. That's the swap's price buffer. The panel shows how much.
  • Selling works the other way: Get paid in SOL swaps what the sale returns back into SOL. About 1% stays in your wallet in the pair token, and the sale only goes through if the price holds within that 1%.
  • Fair Block and Exit Queue sells pay out in the pair token.
  • On mainnet only. On devnet, other pairs trade in the pair token.

Steps

  1. Open the coin's page and connect your wallet.
  2. Pick how to trade: Fair Block (the default) or Instant.
  3. Enter how much to spend.
  4. Check what you'll get, the price impact and the route.
  5. Confirm in your wallet.

Fair Block or Instant

  • Fair Block puts your order in a block with everyone else's for about 3 seconds. Buys and sells are matched at one price, and only the leftover touches the curve. See Fair Blocks.
  • Instant trades now. It buys from the coin's Exit Queue first, with no price impact, then the curve. Use it to grab a holder deal.

Price impact

Buys move the price up the curve. The bigger the buy, the further it moves. Sells move it down.

The buy panel shows the real price impact before you confirm.

What a trade costs

Every trade through woop pays a flat 2% on the curve. The same trade from another app costs 3%. Instant buys that fill from the Exit Queue pay 1%. Part of every fee comes back to you as a holder. See Fees for traders.

Selling

Selling works the same way in reverse, with a third option for big bags: the Exit Queue, which sells into buys instead of down the curve. Selling resets your time held, which lowers your share of holder fees. See Hold-to-earn.

After graduation

A graduated coin trades in its Raydium pool instead of the curve, and you keep trading it on woop the same way: Instant buys fill from the Exit Queue first, then swap in the pool; Fair Blocks match orders at the pool's price; big sellers can still use the Exit Queue. Pool trades pay a 1% pool fee plus a 0.25% creator fee, from woop or any other app, and holders keep earning from them. Every pool trade shows in the coin's trades list and chart, whichever app it was made from.
